The purpose of the Medina Teachers’ Association is to provide a quality education to the students of Medina and improve the welfare of the teachers. However, we also focus a great deal on being a part of our community that we live and work in. Each year, the MTA sponsors and participates in many community programs and school events.
Donated $200 for the Books for Babies program for new mothers in Medina-since 2006, 616 bags have been distributed. Donated our $100 Santa's Choice Award from the Parade of Lights to the Medina Food Pantry. Donated $500 to the Medina Police Department's K-9 Police Dog , Donated $500 to "Time for Medina," restoring the downtown clock.
Organized a school-wide food drive with proceeds going towards the Medina Food Pantry. Provided dinner to Medina's bravest Police and Fire crews at a special 9/11 event. Adopt-A-Highway cleanup in Fall and Spring.
Funded scholarships for Medina students going to college for education. Sponsored $250 for the MTA Yankees little league baseball team.
Stressed the importance of reading by purchasing books for Medina's preschoolers. Provided dinner for the BOE during National School Board Recognition Week. Partnered with the Medina Business Association for a Student of the Month Program
